With the veritable plethora of entertainment and information available online, it may be tempting to spend countless hours online instead of bothering with that pesky real world. Of course, some colleges tend to succumb to this temptation more than others. This week the Herald discovered a site that lets browsers monitor Yale network traffic via the web. This site has informed us, among other things, that TD obviously needs to get out more, that people browse the network at some really bizarre hours (though there's a lull around six in the morning), and that the Elizabethan club (despite the blatant anachronism) does use its Internet access.

Also intriguing is the amoung of incoming traffic the various colleges have. The particularly interesting statistic is the incoming traffic for Jonathan Edwards college. Sources inform us that this is due to someone running an advertiser-supported mp3 site off of his home computer. Needless to say, ITS made this stop, but not before the incoming traffic made a very significant blip on the network traffic radar.
