This post, I know, is but the smallest of tokens, for a great friend, who left us all too soon.

This song was important to my friends before, and it is even more important now.

I showed this song to my good friend Andre Narcisse about a week ago. I don’t know if he knew it before. I know he loved music, and I know he posted the album link on his facebook profile, sometime, now that I’ve been scouring his page.
We looked at the lyrics on his computer that night, and he said he always did. That he always scoured the lyrics. There wasn’t much he didn’t look into, and I had the longest conversation I’ve ever had with him that night. He talked about God, about compassion, about right, wrong, music, feeling, french, architecture, his past, his future–and he gave me his jacket, because I was cold. He was a sensitive kid, and I’ll always think of him when I hear this.
This post, I know, is but the smallest of tokens, for a great friend, who left us all too soon. But it somehow seemed appropriate, or something that I needed to do.
Thank you Andre, for everything.

Dystopia version 400.6:

Warpaint, three woman and one lucky guy (that’s right, this army’s gender neutral), makes your ears frown sadder then that time your mom told you about the milkman.
With a voice sung through murky grit, warpaint will break your heart as if you’d loved a shadow your whole life.

Noise is so vogue. Warpaint makes tantalizing use of the modern day deus-ex-machina, the electric demons of fuzz and static and chaos that our generations music can’t help but be preoccupied with. And rightly so. It is, for all of us, the terror of a world we can’t see.

Ain’t it pretty.

Get ready to funk with the boys straight from…Montreal?

If America didn’t figure out how to, among other things, groove first, who knows what kind of trouble Canade-ee-uh might have gotten itself into. That trumpet has got my legs infected with some kind of restless leg syndrome, and the world is my dance floor.

In case you don’t know who I am, I’ll be the guy on Cross Campus with the flowing purple shirt, gold chain, boombox, and attitude too bad to handle.

Say hello to my favorite foxy little lady, Johanna:
