The scale of Kapoor’s event is a real question: while Kapoor won many of the major Indian film awards this year, including the prestigious Filmfare Best Actor Award, following “his deaf and mute act in ‘Barfi!” he is still an up-and-coming star. According to Bhagwat, “having a lecture in Shubert Theatre will be an overkill.” Some sources say that Kapoor will be coming on April 8, while others say that he is still “working out his dates to accommodate this prestigious assignment.” We cannot wait to have the “chocolate boy of B-town“ join us!

According to a number of esteemed Bollywood news sources, Bollywood’s “brightest light” Ranbir Kapoor will be coming to Yale for a speaking engagement. He follows in the footsteps of his fellow Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan who spoke in 2012 through the Chubb Fellowship. In an email to the Bullblog, Suyash Bhagwat, BR ’15, described the experience of meeting Shah Rukh Khan as “the highlight of [his] freshman year” and while his “bollywood-loving side is really excited over the prospect of Ranbhir Kapoor coming to Yale” he hopes that “his lecture is not on the scale of the SRK event.”
