Guys, it’s been 4 days now since the first fall of snow and I’m finally out and about, tackling my daily errands: an abysmal cup from Blue State, walking from library to library (they all seem to be closed), greeting strangers, Pilates class.

You can imagine my surprise a few minutes ago upon finding this sunny sundry scrawled in a vandal’s black marker on the wall of “Bathroom A,” Blue State on York Streete.

It reads:
There’s a
bluebird in
my heart that
wants to get
out but I’m
too tough
for him,
I say “stay
down”

Finally, a poet who knows it. There’s indeed a bluebird in my heart, I too feel too tough most days. I tell everything and everyone to stay down, probably because I’m scared of change and confrontation.

Please, please, please. Whoever penned these delightful words, get at me. E-mail me, find me on the Twitter. We have a great deal to talk about.
