Breaking Yale-in-pop-culture news: according to Publishers Weekly, author Cecily Von Ziegesar is rewriting her original Gossip Girl novel with an American Psycho twist. It’s going to be called Gossip Girl, Psycho Killer, and you’ll see it on shelves starting October 2011.

Gossip Girl is an edgy young adult series that spawned a successful television show currently in its fourth season. It stars Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, a rich, Yale-obsessed prep school girl who sleeps her way through New York’s bedazzling social scene. Never since the WB series Gilmore Girls have Yale prospies been so prominent in pop culture.
