YDN: After a month of being away from campus, Yalies have officially returned to start their spring semesters. As shopping period commences, and friends see each other again, the question of “How was your break?” can be heard ringing throughout campus. This is then usually followed by the response, “It was great. And yours?” But we know that “great” can mean very different things. So we’re here on campus today to find out just what that means for Yalies.

YDN: How was your break?
iPod Girl: Not too bad.
YDN: What did you do?
iG: Nothing, I was home.

YDN: And how was your break?
Glasses Chick: Good.
YDN: What did you do?
GC: Um. Really not much, honestly.

YDN: What did you do on your break?
Bass Café Girl: Just a lot of sleep. I wanna say, like, taught orphans to read. I slept.

YDN: So, how was your break?
Dashing Kid: Uh, it was great!
Umbrella girl: It was fine.
DK: ATVing.
UG: Uh. I…
DK: Ziplining.
UG: I slept the whole time.
DK: Canyoneering, rappelling, horseback riding. It was great.

Barbour Dude: YDN wants to ask me something?
YDN: Yes.
BD: Of course.
YDN: How was your break?
BD: It was great.
YDN: And what did you do?
BD: I went back to England and drank lots of tea.

YDN: How was your break?
Neon shirt: Um, hospitalized.
YDN: Hospitalized.
NS: Yes.
YDN: You wanna explain that?
NS: Um, I have a known brain issue that was exacerbated by an unknown cyst in my right sinuses, so my flight home had to get emergency landed in Chicago, and I had to get rushed to the hospital by the paramedics, and then they, like, put me on another flight, and the same thing happened, and um a doctor on the flight told me that it was the pressure in my head was building up, and my right eyeball was about to get pushed out of the socket by the pressure, so then I spent the first week home in the hospital, because of the right ventricular swelling in my brain, the cyst in my right sinuses, my foot was fractured in two places, my ankle was fractured, and my foot was infected. [nods] But then after that it was awesome.

YDN: So there you have it. It does seem as though everyone had a great break. Whatever that means.
