Sam See suffered heart attack after taking methamphetamine

After receiving the medical report from Chief State Medical Examiner James Gill, the New Haven Independent has reported that Yale assistant English professor Sam See died due to a heart attack after taking methamphetamine.

Gill concluded that the cause of death was “acute methamphetamine and amphetamine intoxication with recent miocardial infarct.” He also concluded that See died accidentally.

Sam See died in a police lock-up after being arrested in a domestic dispute with his husband on Saturday, Nov. 23. His body was discovered by police in his cell the following morning. See was 34.
