The Bill Clinton excuse here is lovely: “I did take her a pizza, but we didn’t eat it.” I’m not completely sure why the pizza is so relevant to the affair, but you have to love when Jerry gets in the middle of a shouting match.

I sincerely hope this clip is faked. On the one hand, the complete bizarreness of clips like this is what makes the Jerry Springer Show so memorable. On the other hand (or foot…), I really didn’t need to know the details of the amputation. Do not watch the related videos on this one.

Never mind that most students think of Friday as the end of the week: today is the first day of Food Week, a veritable cornucopia of food-related events brought to you by YCC and the Yale Sustainable Food Project. Carlo Petrini, the founder and president of Slow Food International, will kick off the week of gastronomical celebrations this afternoon at 5:00 in the Whitney Humanities Center Auditorium at 53 Wall St. According to YSFP Communications Intern Chloe Zale ’12, Carlo was “as excited about learning about the farm and its following as he was about the pizza we made for him up here. Even though he’s the head of a huge organization, it’s clear that he still takes time to enjoy the little things in life.” Chloe declined to comment on the virtues of Petrini’s rustic, effortlessly sophisticated salt-and-pepper beard. The rest of the week’s events are listed below, with “most likely opportunities for a James Franco sighting” in bold:

According to an email Courtney Pannell sent to the “Team Coco” panlist, Charlie Jaegar, Jeff Gordon’s campaign manager, tagged Courtney in a Jeff Gordon endorsement picture of Pete Croughan this morning. The tag has since been removed, but the Coco camp is not taking this lightly.

A response to Courtney’s original email suggests that Courtney may report the tag as a breach of YCC election by-laws, which state that;

iv. Any publicity that is deemed fraudulent, or if it is deemed primarily to intimidate orderogate another candidate is not permitted

Many of the newly elected board members have indicated they are endorsing Pannell. Lauren Koster (secretary-elect) and Chris LoPresti (UOFC chair-elect) have voiced their support by changing their profile pictures to the “I’m with Coco” poster.  Let’s see where this takes the campaign, but from the looks of Coco’s most recent status update she won’t go down without a fight…

I got a chance to ask the presidential candidates a few questions that hopefully showcase a bit more about who they are as Yale students. Running for the presidential slot, we have Jeff Gordon with a great campaign poster, Pete Croughan with a simple but to-the-point slogan, and Courtney Pannell with a sleek website and enlisted supporters.

The vice presidential campaign is a little bit quieter so far, but Guillermo Peralta has a solid statement, Annie Shi has an eye-catching poster, and Justine Kolata (who might actually be running for JCC, but I’m not sure if I should trust her or Cross Campus) has this…

Because Courtney is the YDN’s multimedia editor, we’ve heard the News won’t able to make endorsements this year. The Bullblog won’t be either (kingmaking is not our thing), but we will be covering every single detail of YCC elections in coming weeks… get ready.

What does this mean for Yale?  Students will resort to “scandalous and libertine behavior” driven by those crazy freaks who enjoy “drinking, dark and loud parties” and “the hook-up culture” who also happen to like their opposite-gender friends more than their same-gender friends.  Yalies will start to try to live with goats and dogs.  Hell, Yale’s going to start to admit goats and dogs.  The sanctity of marriage will be ruined.

We would like to wish you all a most glorious celebration of dear Saint Valentine and in the interest of personal safety and propriety we hope that you heed hitherto advice on how to properly respond to Ye Olde YCC Compatibility Survey.  We beg you, please, do not stray from the path of righteousness.  Follow our words and you will surely be lead to successes this Valentine’s day.

It is absolutely NOT acceptable to, upon receiving a mutual compatibility with a complete stranger to send them an email right away.  It is, however, acceptable to first “google” them, read their “twitter”, look at every picture on their “facebook”, ask mutual friends what they are like, decide if they are good looking, well endowed, and marriage worthy and then proceed by asking them for a stroll in the snow.

It is acceptable to, upon receiving a mutual compatibility with an unsavory character of whom you have little interest to immediately change your answers and pray that they do not see your unfortunate pairing until you get your new results.

It is acceptable to, upon happening across a mutual compatibility who has previously sparked your interest to greet them with a slight timid nod and a shy smile.  It is also acceptable to offer your hand by way of greeting.  If you happen to see each other in a crowded area of many festivities and both of you make eye contact from across the room and the other begins to approach you it is absolutely not acceptable to embrace physically before being introduced.

Our dear Jane Austen once said, “Respect for right conduct is felt by every body.” We beg of you, be wise, careful, and most of all polite this Valentine’s day.
