Bullblog Tip-off: Once Five Years Pass

Not to be confused with The Last Five Years, the Jason Robert Brown musical, Once Five Years Pass is a play by Federico García Lorca, presented at the Whitney Theater this weekend in a new translation by the director, Gary Jaffe.
Now, I haven’t yet read the play, but I have spent the last few weeks reading pretty much every other play García Lorca wrote (for SPAN 341–Lorca: Poetry and Plays), and can say with some confidence that he was one of the great playwrights of the 20th century. Those who saw The Winter’s Tale should recognize some familiar faces.
Word on the street is that tonight’s performance, at 8pm, is “sold” out.
