Bullblog tip-off: recruitment shows to catch this weekend

By 3 September 2010 One Comment

This weekend marks the beginning of that special time at Yale when freshmen rush a cappella and improv, which means that almost every group on campus is performing in a recruitment show. They’re designed for freshmen who might end up rushing, but they’re also a hundred times more fun for those of us who aren’t trying to make a good impression in the front row. Here’s how to get to each and every show this weekend:

Purple Crayon Recruitment Show

Tonight, 7 pm in Sudler Hall, WLH 201

Dwight Hall A Cappella Jam and Rush Kickoff! (that’s their exclamation point)

Tonight, 10:30 in Dwight Chapel

This concert is the last chance for freshmen to check out their a cappella options before signing up for auditions later tonight. Every group performs, so it’s a marathon and not a sprint, but Duke’s Men are rumored to be performing early.

The Viola Question Recruitment Show

Tonight, 11 pm, the Saybrook Underbrook

Just Add Water Recruitment Show

Saturday, 11 pm in the Saybrook Underbrook

The Exit Players Recruitment Show

Sunday, 8 pm, Davenport Common Room
