Welcome, class of 2014!
Admissions director Jeffrey Brenzel has been kind enough to share the news on admissions for the class of 2014.
- The final application count was 25,869.
- Final admissions count are 1,940 (this makes for a 7.5% admit rate)
- There are 932 students wait-listed
(If you want to compare this to last year’s data: 26,003 applicants, 1951 admits, 7.5% admit rate, 769 on the wait-list).
According to Brenzel, students are expected to be accepted off the wait list, but can’t yet say how many. According to Brenzel, “Once again, the applicant pool was truly extraordinary, making the selection task tremendously difficult. The consolation for turning away so many immensely talented students is knowing that virtually all Yale applicants will be attending great colleges and universities.”
