Daily Beast: A List Without Yale (or Harvard)

By 7 October 2009 One Comment

The Daily Beast released a list of the Best College Food, and Yale was nowhere to be found! While I’m shocked that sliced zucchini done every day doesn’t earn us a spot on the list, it’s been almost a requisite that every writer covering “How College Food Used to Be Bad But Is Now Good!” mention the YSFP, Alice Waters, and Berkeley (in these articles, Berkeley College was, is, and will forever be the one and only college at Yale to serve sustainable food). Until the YSFP starts harvesting lobster for every meal like at Bowdoin and Virginia Tech, however, the “A” that Yale’s Dining Services received for sustainable food just isn’t going to cut it for the Daily Beast.

  • Stanford Dining’s executive chefs train in Paris and collaborate with the nation’s top chefs. Still, it’s the little touches that make this school stand out. Among the most luxe? Stanford’s “spa water,” which flows from the campus taps and is infused with fresh cut produce, such as watermelon, cucumber, and lemon. Stanford also has the first peanut-free dining hall for undergrads with allergies.

SPA WATER? WE’VE GOT THAT SHIT TOO!
