It’s the first official day of fall, which means it’s more or less the unofficial end of Camp Yale. Which means that Yale will not be fun again until right around Spring Fling. That being said, these are a few of my favorite things:

1. Corduroy pants, jackets, suits (I had never seen a corduroy suit before coming to Yale, but every English professor of the male persuasion seems to own at least one).
2. Pumpkin spice lattes and caramel apple ciders from Starbucks (the calories are necessary in order to keep you warm, of course)
3. Everything to do with pumpkins in general — picking them yourself, carving them, roasting seeds, etc.
4. Candy corn.
5. Yale’s week-long Thanksgiving break.
6. the Game. the Game being at Yale and not Harvard. Hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps.
7. Wearing sweaters but not coats!

Okay, so I couldn’t come up with thousands of reasons to enjoy autumn (and most of mine revolved around food or clothes), but I hope you’re all feeling optimistic and ready to frolic in the leaves or whatever it is you want to do. FALL 2009 WOOOOOOO.
