Five places to study in the next three weeks

By 29 November 2011 No Comments

If you study here long enough, they'll put your head in here too.

As of this very moment, 18 days // 435 hours // 26142 minutes // 1568561 seconds exist between you and the end of finals period. Until then, though, it’s your job to get through eight weeks of lecture slides, dozens of pages of notes, and hundreds of pages of reading. The ultimate question you must answer is not how, but where?

5. Starbucks. The one on Chapel & High St., obviously. Pros: Higher concentration of attractive people, tasty/healthy snacks, opens at 5:30am during the week. Cons: Sort of expensive, slow wi-fi, sexy people = more distractions.

4. JoJo’s. Pros: Not ridiculously busy, offers tasty sandwiches, great location for Pierson/Davenport and off-campus Lynwood/Howe folk. Cons: A few homeless people who either talk loudly are there daily, medium strength wi-fi, and it gets super crowded on Sat./Sun.

3. An empty room in WLH. Pros: Lots of space, sometimes a cool view, technically no closing time. Cons: You don’t know if it’ll be reserved that day, no comfortable chairs, sometimes limited number of outlets.

2. SML Reading Rooms. Pros: A few have couches, they’re always really quiet, tons of space to spread out your shit. Cons: It closes early-ish too. That’s about it.

1. The Catholic Center. Pros: Always places to sit, FREE FOOD AND DRINK, very quiet. Cons: They make you sign in, it closes early-ish, and it’s only convenient for Pierson/D’Port/off-campus folk.
