Harvard budget cuts reduce Urban Studies to just watching “The Wire”

“The Wire” is my second-favorite show. Maybe third. That is high praise from me, since I rank everything systematically, and I watch a lot of TV. I once heard of someone at Columbia writing his senior thesis on the show, and I wasn’t surprised—shit is rich. But now, maybe inspired by him, maybe inspired by the fact that they’ve had to fire all their teachers, Harvard has accounced they are going to have a class next year featuring “The Wire” as its core text on urban decay. I’m not quite sure whether to be jealous of them or pity them—because it seems kind of like something that might have happened in season four.
