Hear some songs this Family weekend

By 9 October 2009 No Comments

If you’re like me and are always a little bewildered about how to show your parents the Yale experience (yeah, I go to the BAC all the time, mom….), let an a cappella concert do it for you! All the groups have just been invigorated with some fresh blood by tap night, so even if you heard them at their jam in January, it could still be worth a stop. Here is the full schedule of this weekend’s a cappella concerts (with a few non-a cappella music events thrown in for good measure.) All prices listed are for at the door; cheaper fares are often to be had in advance.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9

Magevet—Slifka Chapel—7:45 PM—free?

Whiffenpoofs & Whim & Rhythm—Battell Chapel—8 PM—$20 adult/$15 student

Yale Slavic Chorus—Dwight Hall—8:30 PM—$5 adult/$2 student

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10

Spizzwinks & Something Extra—Dwight Hall—4 PM—$10 adult/$5 student

Out of the Blue—Saybrook Underbrook—4 PM—$10 adult/$5 student

Redhot & Blue & the SOBs—Sudler Hall in WLH—4:30 PM—$15 adult/$5 student

Bakers’ Dozen & Proof of the Pudding—First & Summerfield Church—8 PM—$12 adult/$7 student

Duke’s Men & Mixed Company—Branford Dining Hall—8 PM—$12 adult/$6 student

Alley Cats & The New Blue—JE Dining Hall—8:30 PM

Tangled Up in Blue—TD Dining Hall—8:30 PM—$7 adult/$3 student

There may be more I’m missing—if so, it is a result of neglect, not malice. Please comment or e-mail any other concerts to thebullblog@gmail.com!
