Mia Genoni is the new Berkeley College Dean

By 25 May 2010 One Comment

Mia Genoni, Mellon Special Collections Humanities Postdoctoral Fellow and a Lecturer in the Humanities Program, has just been appointed Dean of Berkeley College, filling in for Kevin Hicks, who is moving on to the Hotchkiss School. The appointment was announced in a message from Mary Miller, Dean of Yale College (whose spunkiness was in full force at Class Day), forwarded to Berkeley students by the Master’s Office. Genoni, a WHC Fellow (!), has been at Yale since 2008. She interviewed for the Berkeley Deanship on May 7, according to an earlier e-mail from Master Chun. Her appointment comes hot on the heels of the appointment of Hilary Fink, Associate Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures, as Dean of Branford College.

  • Old friends down south want to offer their congrats, though belated. We know she’ll be an asset.
