Super Bowl XLIV, or a Comparison of Buffalo Wings in New Haven
1. Buffalo Wild Wings, 74-76 Church St., New Haven.
With 14 sauces ranging from Sweet BBQ to Blazin’ (with Asian Zing, Spicy Garlic, and Mango Habanero among the offerings), something for everyone. FYI: Caribbean Jerk is disgusting. Someone always thinks it sounds interesting, and that someone is always wrong. 6 Traditional Wings are $4.99; you can get 50 for $31.99. 50 boneless wings are $33.99, and much more filling. BWW also has an impressive beer list, not to mention more unnecessary TV screens than any other establishment, ever.
2. S’wings, 280 Crown St., New Haven.
7 wings for $5.65, 100 wings for $52.95. Closer to campus, and has the most impressive selection of French fries. Bison fires ($3.75) come with bleu cheese and buffalo sauce, S’molderins ($3.75) are sweet potato fries with chipotle, and Garlic Parmesan fries ($3.75) are self-explanatory and come with marinara sauce for dipping.
3. Main Garden, 376 Elm St., New Haven.
MG is definitely the underdog, but is also my favorite Chinese restaurant and perfect if you want an alternative to the traditional guac/nachos alongside your wings. 4 Wings are $3.25; you can add beef/pork fried rice for $2.50 extra. If you’re adventurous, Fried Chicken Gizzards are $3.25. Most exciting, however, are the boneless BBQ spare ribs, which cost $9.75 for a large (you’ll want the large).

this is helpful for my everyday life! though not alas for today.
