The Great Gourmet Tragedy of 2009

Condé Nast is closing Gourmet magazine! In spite of the fact that many of the recipes are accessible on the website or at Epicurious, it will be a sad day when we can no longer flip through glossy pages of food porn. And to whom will they sell their domain name? Gourmet.com? That’s prime real estate.
The good news is, Gourmet magazine hasn’t taken the “SUBSCRIBE” button off of their website… last minute surge in sales revenue for the save? Everyone do it now! You get a free cookbook!
Alternatively, someone start a Yale food magazine.

not quite food porn, but it’s yale?
Food magazine…great idea!
I’m the founder and editor-in-chief of The Yale Epicurean, a magazine being launched on Friday. It’s dedicated to the culinary arts, including articles about gastronomica, recipes, and restaurant reviews. It’ll be in dining halls on Friday, so look out for it!
It’s really really cool to see college aged kids care about food – yale epicurean mag etc. CN probably thought all you wanted was Bon Appetit. On Twitter, a few of us are collaborating to keep the Gourmet spirit alive here: http://twitter.com/savegourmet
