The New York Times this weekend had a great story talking about all the prix fixe menus that have sprung up around Southern Connecticut in the last few months; they especially love the early-bird special at Bespoke, which is fast becoming a Bullblog favorite for their drinks:
At Bespoke in New Haven, a city with three professional theaters, the Early Bird Pre-Theater Special is meant to lure diners before theater openings. At $29 for three small courses, with four options in each, this is real value, especially considering how good the food is and how attractive the sophisticated backdrop is.
They sadly failed to mention the $5 burger at the Study—probably for the best. We don’t want all of Fairfield country driving over here… think of the traffic on the Merritt!

Not too many people realize this, but if you can’t make it in before 6 or after 9 to bespoke, they offer the menu all night at the bar- anytime. so you can get some of those awesome cocktails and some really great food if you sit at their fabulous two sided bar.
