As you may have read in CrossCampus this morning, Yalies literally swept this year’s writing prizes from the Atlantic Monthly. Thanks to Catherine Cheney and the Yale Journalism Initiative’s Weekly Newsletter, the Bullblog brings you the list of winners:
2009 Winner, 1st prize: Jialu Chen ’11 (piece written for English 469, Anne Fadiman)
2009 Winner, 2nd prize: Isaac Arnsdorf ’11 (piece written for Yale Daily News)
2009 Winner, 3rd prize: Alice Baumgartner ’10 (piece written for English 455, Anne Fadiman)
2009 Honorable Mention: Emily Appelbaum ’10 (piece written for English 454, Fred Strebeigh)
2009 Honorable Mention: Laura Gottesdiener ’10 (piece written for English 489, Fred Strebeigh)
Congrats, guys! And that definitely includes the divine Anne Fadiman and Fred Strebeigh—not that they need any further recommendation or praise.
